Aries Power Flushing

Blandford Forum, Dorset. Telephone 01258 45 86 85

Serving Dorset, West Hants and Salisbury area.

I fix central heating systems that leave some radiators cold, need frequent bleeding, or the boiler fires up and just doesn't seem to get your home warm. After treatment your system will warm up quicker and be more cost effective.
Also general plumbing and domestic drain clearance - see our other site at - Aries Plumbing & Heating

Central Heating Problems

There are a number of reasons why your radiators may not be heating up properly, the most common are a failed or failing pump or divert valve(s) or it's clogged up with sludge and other contaminants.
Other problems are "kettling" noises and corrosion which may be pinholes in radiators or leaking, corroded fitments.
Sludge forms as a chemical reaction as there is air and water in a system with different metals which is the classic corrosion forming scenario. If your system is cleaned and has sufficient protector included in it then it will often last for years without problems. (The boiler does need checking regularly however)

Why Power Flushing

Power flushing is the process by which heating systems are forcibly cleansed using water at high velocity, but low pressure, so that no physical damage is caused to the system. The process can be made even more effective with the addition of powerful cleansing and mobilising agents such as FX2 and HYPER-FLUSH, from Kamco.
A clean and protected system improves the boiler efficiency, helps the pump and divert valves to last much longer and reduces corrosion.

Why do I use Kamco Equipment

Kamco is, in our opinion, the country's leading manufacturer of power flushing and industrial cleaning equipment, they make over 20 different machines so I reckon they know what they're doing. I use Kamco chemicals too. To find out more visit Kamco

What I do

When invited I will ask you to turn your heating off for up to 30 minutes before I arrive. On arrival the heating is turned on so that I can check all the radiators etc to identify any that are problematic.
Next I drain off some of the water and test it to see just what is wrong. If it doesn't need flushing then I don't do it! Your system may just need adjusting and/or topping up with protecting fluid or replacement parts.
Theoretically it takes one person about 4 to 6 hours to clean and treat a system of 7-10 radiators. Experience tells me that it is often a bit longer to ensure that the job is done properly.
